Press in 2002. He is also a member of several national trade
organizations, including The Academy of Western

of the West, The Western Writers
of America, and The Western Music
Association.
2006…Recorded “Montana
In My Soul”, his eighth CD, again produced by Nashville's
Russ Ragsdale. Here's a portion of a review: "By the time
I got past the first chorus of the first tune, on the disc, "Too Far Back
To Texas," I knew Ken had another winner."

book to a waiting and eager audience. Again published by Bear Valley
Press, it is a collection of stories from the Real West.

2004…Produced “The Kamikaze Cow”, a side splitting video of one of the most popular routines in his live show. Here's the kind of reviews it's gotten: "This takes Cowboy Poetry to a whole new level!" Jim Thompson, Syndicated Radio Host and Founder of the Heritage of the American West Performance Series, Spearfish, South Dakota 2003....Published "Yesterday's Yarns", a collection of his popular "Meadow Muffin" stories. Ken also gained valuable sponsorship recognition from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, American Cowboy Magazine, Tilleman Motor Company, Pacific Steel, and Triple T Trailer Sales. 2002....Launched a Syndicated radio program "The Cowboy Show". 2001....Recorded "Montana Campfire" a collection of some of his most popular "Meadow Muffin" stories as well as some favorite old cowboy songs. 2000....Awarded "The Will Rogers Yodeler of the Year Award" by the Academy of Western Artists. Ken was also nominated "Male Performer of the Year" by the Western Music Association , and was endorsed by thewest.com to enhance their public image, and become one of their International Spokesmen. The Blaine County Commissioners wrote a unanimous letter of endorsement to nominate Ken for the "Montana Governor's Award for the Arts". 1999....Recorded an all acoustic album entitled "Montana Cowboy," a collection of both original and cowboy classics. Ken was nominated for "Male Performer of the Year" by the Western Music Association, and "Prairie Poetry, Vol. I" was nominated for "Cowboy Poetry Album of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artists. 1998....Recorded "Prairie Poetry, Vol. 1," his first album dedicated exclusively to original poetry. Ken was nominated by radio for "Male Vocalist of the Year" for the Country Gospel Music Guild, and for the "Career Achievement Award" at the King Eagle Music Awards in Nashville. He began writing a popular regular column entitled "Meadow Muffins." 1997....Recorded his first duet album with his daughter Karleen. Entitled simply "Ken and Karlie," it contains eight original compositions, and was released in late summer. Two self penned numbers were selected by Lora Lea Records for inclusion on an album to be distributed to radio internationally. It continues to receive favorable reviews, and features some of Nashville's finest session players. Ken won the International Cowboy Yodeling Championship held at the Western Music Association Festival in Tucson, Arizona, and received a European nomination for the "Artistic Trailblazer Award" at the King Eagle Music Awards in Nashville. 1996....Recorded and digitally remastered & retracked "Silver & Gold," his first album, to enhance it's entrance into the CD age. His tune, "Life is a Song," was selected by Lora Lea Records to be included on a compilation entitled "The Mystical Magic of Montana Music," Vol. Two.. 1995....Recorded an album entitled "Ken Overcast, Live," consisting of original material as well as popular cover tunes. He was also featured in a video of the same title produced by Dreadnought Productions of Los Angeles. His song "A Cowboy's Heart" was selected for inclusion on "The Mystical Magic of Montana Music," Vol. One.. 1994....Recorded "Thinkin' Back," an album containing half original material. He also began his association with Nashville producer Russ Ragsdale, who has overseen subsequent recording projects. 1993....Recorded "Silver & Gold," a collection of original Gospel songs. It was supported by tours that were received very warmly. Written from a perspective of experience, it comes directly from his heart, sharing his personal struggles and triumphs simply and intimately.
